This week has been an adventure. A freaking stressful adventure. I'm 90% of the way through purchasing my NEW VW Beetle GLX... and I'm SO excited. I feel very positive about this car. It's going to hurt me a little in the pocket (with a car note that I'm not used to paying) but maybe I'll get a nice raise this October to help offset what I'll be spending.
It's a pretty big chunk of change, but it is a top of the line beetle. It's picture is in the gallery and yes that is the color I'm getting. Platinum Grey with a grey LEATHER interior.
I signed an intent to purchase with a clause in there that the interest rate is acceptable. The lower it is, the more likely I am to get it.
I'm going to try to keep the money in my savings and just dip into it for my trips this year. I have managed to be good and pay off a lot of my credit card debt slowly (I only have a little bit left) so I don't think it will be too bad once I get those paid off (any Sugar Daddies out there reading this? *grin*).
So the VW Beetle might be considered a fru-fru car by some, but I like it. The Platinum Grey gives it kind of a sleek uptown feel.
Why did I choose it over the VW Cabrio Convertible? Well I just didn't sit well with the whole convertible thing (from a security standpoint) and the Beetle did have some ZOOM ZOOM power. It also has all the options I've never had. Power windows, locks, a sunroof, air-conditioning, AND it's wierd. The Cabrio just didn't have any power in driving. The Beetle (believe it or not had like 35 more hp which made a REAL difference). It's smaller than my current car, but I wanted something different and I guess you don't get more different than a bubble with wheels. I think it's going to be a fun little car.
ZOOM ZOOM!
Thanks everyone that's written me and have enjoyed my little adventures.
