What's going on ya'll???

OK OK! I know I have been lazy. Yes lazy. But for those of you that know me, that shouldn't come as a big surprise, eh?

What was the BIG reveal?

Did I get my hair did?

Not quite! Although I do I wish I had hair to get "did" :)

I was invited to compete in the 2008 NAGAAA Softball World Series in Seattle, WA as part of the Atlanta Muddawgs. Now...I know...I work at Georgia Tech and anything with the word "dawg" is kind of a scratch on the blackboard...but I just HAD to go!!!

I was invited to be a pick-up player and participate in the capacity of the "utility player" since I can play outfield, shortstop, and catcher (again...stop with the snickering from the peanut gallery ;). This would be my FOURTH world series, the first three being as a player with the Woofs Wackers.

I had never been to Seattle before so this was going to be a great experience. And as luck would have it, my other half, Sean, was able to come up and see me play and help out keeping things in line (namely me!).

Some of the most memorable moments of our trip were:
  • Oswalt dancing with a little person nicknamed "Happy Meal" at the opening party.
  • Visiting Fisherman's Wharf and all the fantastic flowers
  • Visiting the first Starbucks.
  • Ron voting for himself because he wanted the trophy so bad.
  • Going to Vancouver afterwards to visit my friend Jason whom I had only known on the Internet but have known him for YEARS.
For your enjoyment, here is my Picasa album of the trip!

And for your information...after a hard long fight...and a protest...we got SECOND PLACE. :)

After spending weeks practicing and a whole week with these guys in Seattle...they offered me a place on their 2009 roster! And I took it! :)

I'll miss my previous team the Woofs Wackers greatly, but it's time for a change.
